#5 Matamoros actually translates into "Kill the Moors", from the Spanish verb 'Matar' (to kill). Several cities and towns (and a few surnames) go by that or derivative thereof. Must have been a popular sentiment at one time or another.

'Moros muertos' would denote the Moors' previous passing.
