#2 Bought this house because of the plenitude of owls of all flavors. My favorite is the long term pair of Great Horned Owls that nests in the 2nd oak. When a chick is in the nest with mom you hear a lot of early morning talk between the one in the nest with the chick and the one out hunting. Something like "get your feathery ass back here with food nao!" Later as the chicks/chick age both parents have to forage to keep up with the caloric needs of the baby. At this point, usually at pre-dawn I can walk under the oak and get a baritone baby owl Cheeeerp!
