#1 That is not enough evidence. It needs to be much more data. Crime rate etc.

PS: I am Portuguese and i agree with zero prohibition.

#2 Of course we don't need to honest about it. The number of DUI deaths since prohibition repeal exceeds the number of deaths in wars from the same date. You're just shifting numbers in the columns in the bookkeeping. Just be honest that it isn't clean and simple, that life is just a series of trade offs.

DECRIMINALISE EVERYTHING.
But license it, treat it akin to temporary voluntary mental illness.
The guy selling the pills is responsible for you and your actions until you are free of the influence of the drug.

#4 One of the things you get to miss in the UK is the constant barrage of tort lawyer commercials soliciting clients for all sorts of ills, perceived or otherwise. I suspect pot (et al) dealers in legal recreational drugs are going to be among the next targets of opportunity. Even with the Surgeon's General warning on tobacco for generations, they still got their 'pound of flesh' from that industry.
