Plausible; no sense letting a good crisis go to waste. Or maybe just setting an example for the rest.

#5 There were similar waves of arrests in Stalin's Russia. At some (political) assemblies, somebody would offer praise of Stalin, and people would clap. Then everyone would join in. They would continue for minutes, then hours, until people would faint. Finally, somebody would take the initiative to stop, breaking the spell. Guess who was arrested the next day.

#6 ION TOPIX > CHINA, SOUTH KOREA EDGE CLOSER TO FTA.

and

* CHINESE MILITARY FORUM > FTA WID CHINA [+ ROK] COULD HAVE [major = serious] GEOPOLITICAL RAMIFICATIONS, espec for NE Asia.

ARTIC > Beijing = Rising China may be more conducive to supporting the concept of formal DPRK-ROK integration, + ultimately reunification, iff it had potent econ influence in SOuth Korea vee FTAS.

versus

* DAILY TIMES.PK > SOUTH KOREA THINK-TANK WARNS OF NORTH'S ARMY "ADVENTURISM".

ARTIC > ROK Foreign Ministry Institute > DPRK = IRAN? = Kim Jong-Un may order a THIRD NUCLEAR TEST OR NEW MISSLE LAUNCH LATER IN 2012, OR ELSE EARLY 2013.

Aka as January 2013? when Israel's INSS Analysts believes Iran may formally conduct a NucWeaps test???
