A repeat of two decades ago, when the media did a full-on campaign for US involvement in that g*dforsaken place. Since this administration has established a track record for this type of intervention, methinks NYT decided to ask for yet another one.

#7 And also ignoring... there aren't any christians or westerners there; the women are basically moslem africans or arabs or some mixture of the two. And they have the same lack of rights as foreigners do when it's convenient for the gangs with guns.

#11 I recall that the women were enthusiastically shielding the men with their bodies en-masse when American forces were firing to keep the men pushed back when they shot down that Blackhawk helicopter during Clinton's administration. I don't seem to find myself too worked up about it. They got what they asked for: A male-dominated warlord-centric society. I have no idea why a woman would ask for that. They wouldn't know what to do with an equal society if it fell in their lunch. They'd probably throw it in the garbage.
