#2 Not gridlock at all! Presidents have been increasing their power far too long, and with recess appointments, at the expense of congress. And Obama has a laundry list of radicals he would love to quietly appoint without any public gaze before the senate.

So by blocking recess appointments, the president, whoever it is, is forced to go through the constitutional process. That isn't gridlock, that is good.

#3 only drawback is that since the session never really ended, all the prior recess appointees like that asshat Berwick, remain in place
