When your metaphorical back is against the wall, you don't have much choice in who to contract with.

Likely for the right price (economic incentives), the Chinese could supply troops that were either ethnic Korean, Korean-Chinese, or Korean in appearance. Given their track record, Chinese troops dressed in police uniforms isn't a deal-breaker, whether they're NorK or Chinese 'police'.

#9 True, Pappy. My suspicion is he can trust the Chinese to do the bare minimum and little else; I suspect they don't want to spend any money they don't have to.

I was also thinking of the reports that he had recently purged his entire security apparatus.
