#2 Yep, this posting was a LOT more justified than the one I tried posting about Bama's 'thunderous interruption' during his little family-trip deviation from his duties at Arlington.

Oh wait...sorry 'god'...(snark)
Stupid human stories filed under LCT are always ok, particularly when loaded with righteous snark.

I dinged the Bambi thunderstorm story. Simple reason: who cares? So a thunderstorm cancelled the planned ceremony. It wasn't a big deal. I had no problem with Bambi honoring our war dead at the Abe Lincoln national cemetery rather than Arlington, so it was even less of a big deal.

That's the explanation. Hope it helps.

#5 Depends if has kids or not. I'm betting he doesn't given his cavalier attitude towards guns, which is proably a thing of the past now.

Now if his nuts get a vote, they might have something else to say.

#7 Depends if has kids or not.

Several former Darwin Award nominees had kids so we shouldn't consider it as a criteria.

Occasionally a story comes along that just cries out for inclusion despite the fact that it's not
WOT related.

Suggesting that the president was judged by a 'higher power' during his speech at Lincoln, for skipping his duties at Arlington, certainly merits inclusion. Certainly more so than what is so obviously a gang-banger demonstrating Darwinism (imho). And before the comments come slinging, this was NOT a white guy that left his holster at home. If it were, the local press and the AP would be using it on their anti-gun bent.

But that's fine. I'm ranting. It's not the first time and it likely won't be the last (for reasons obvious to me).

#13 The man's handgun, which was in the waistband of his pants...

Why does one walk around, particularly in and around businesses, with a loaded handgun simply in the waistband? Didn't have a PIN for the ATM?

In the strange terminology play of 'pre-boarding', we may have a case of 'pre-justice'.

#14 Should he be allowed to apply for a Darwin Award?

Darwin Awards are only won posthumously, JFM. Not to worry though. I'm sure he'll get another shot at it.

#15 Ouch! I know a lot of folks who have had an accidental discharge (No pun intended). Many of these people have had extensive firearms training. Some are police officers. A local sheriff had a "baby" Glock in his pants pocket. He got it tangled up in his car keys and the firearm discharged. Safety, training, good equipment and a knowledge of the weapon you are carrying are the watchwords.

Shoving an unholstered gun in your pocket violates all three of safety, training, and good equipment. Equipment -- a holster that covers the trigger is a minimum requirement. Safety -- not using such a holster AND putting your keys in the same pocket. Training -- doing it anyway.

#21 This Lowes is just a few blocks from my house. But I was out-of-town at the time.

They don't mention what he was shopping for.

What kind of idiot goes shopping with a loaded pistol in their waistband? Takes balls - so he probably won't be doing it anytime soon.

#22 It's not an Accidental Discharge it's a Negligent Discharge. Accidental would be the gun going off on its own. This dummy caused this.

#23 Technically the Darwin Awards are for those who remove themselves from the gene pool through their own stupidity and thereby raise the average IQ of h. sapiens. While death is the customary mechanism, I would say this qualifies.

My daughter had one of these, she complained that after you shoot a couple of rounds it's too hot to hold, Got a .380 and is very happy with the gun, sold the pea shooter.
