So ~~John Walker Lindh~~ Duane Reasoner Jr. is in possession of a special permit that gives him access to parts of the Fort Hood installations that are off limits to the general public?

Pardon my islamophobia but why would that be a good idea from a general security point of view?

#10 #9 and #7: perhaps the car is stickered to allow access, but there shouldn't be a big deal to institute 100% ID card checks. NAS Whidbey does it all the time.
(and this is not meant to be the first shot in an Army-Navy game, BTW)
