They find earth and it is an environut's dream... 150000 years ago.. just a few thousand hunter gatherers who have no language.

No large predators to be seen... just herds of fluffy bunnies and antelope and pretty birdies...

The fleet of spaceships is sent into the Sun.

The humans decide against building a new city.

So the 40000 survivors go off walking in different directions with just the clothes on their back... "to grow crops"

No technology... back to sticks and mud.

That one is easy: move the excess population to developing countries.
