#3 Considering that Congress has an approval rating of 13%, I would say the dhimocrats are in serious fucking trouble.

#4 The problem is that Congress as a whole has a 13% approval rating. However, probably many people love their own Congress critter and are willing to re-elect them, because they bring home the bacon to the district/state. So incumbents are often re-elected, even if they should be arrested or worse.
A good argument for term limits for Congress. Unfortunately, since the first step in passing a constitutional amendment is a vote in Congress, it will never happen.
