#4 The Blob was frozen and dropped in the Arctic, not the Antarctic. Why they didn't ship the thing off to the local Halliburton secret hangar for further study is unknown. It doesn't seem likely they could not have kept the thing frozen.

Now they have the enviro-Nazi's and Al Gore to worry about.
