In Saudi Arabia a man can divorce his wife by saying "talaq, talaq, talaq".

Do they have to throw dog poop on her shoes?

#6 regarding #7, this is a big problem in Egypt (and other places) where there is a chronic shortage of housing.

regarding #8, this was approximately true in Judaism until about 1000 years ago

You have to understand that under Sharia law, beatings, rapes, disfigurements, etc... of wives is (and daughters) not really considered 'mistreatment'.
