Are all arabs suicidal lunatics? Or do they all just claim to be? It took Israel exactly 6 days to settle this the last time, and there was a much larger arab consortium attacking. Bragging is a big part of being an arab asshole.

#7 It would be suicide for Israel to march on Damascus if they believe Tehran to have a nuke. Don't rule out Pencilneck and Dinnerjacket colluding to extract a Casus Belli and international sympathy from the leftists.

#9 Syrian false optimism in 1967 and 1973 was in the context of having the Soviet Union as a backstop. At the point of Israeli victory the Russians would wave their nukes and the Americans would negotiate a cease fire under which the Arabs wouldn't lose what they would have had the players been limited to the opposing sides. That backstop isn't there any more. Junior has to sabre-rattle a little to try not to look too much weaker than Pop had been, but he'd be crazy to take it further. On an over/under of 4 days I'd bet the under.
