That first sentence is a classic example of "Palestinian logic". It's kind of like Sicilian logic, only five times more dizzying in its intellect, and ten times more suicidal/homicidal.

#5 It's been beaten into them since before they were born! Even preschools and kindergartens have the teachers tell them how Israelis drink the blood of Palestinian children, etc. They've got this kind of stuff on tape! They don't stand a chance, and they don't seem to be able to rethink things when they get older. Even people who live in developed countries and convert or get reborn to Islam can believe this stuff to one degree or another somehow, too! I can understand the people who have been raised in this environment beliving it. But there must be something about a convert's personality being broken or vulnerable to make them more susceptible to such illogical radical dogma. Happens to some degree for many religions, but this one is just over the top and gone. These people must really, really want to believe this stuff now matter how impossible, and radical Islam seems to be the best fit and offer the best opportunities.

It would be interesting to see a study done on the percentage of homicidal/hater nut-cases among converts as a function of religion. I'll bet a higher percentage land in radical Islam, which would suggest all kinds of interesting stuff. I'm guessing personality disorder for converts, and genetic personality disorder combined with upbringing for people born into the extremist fold. Ritalin in the water might help! :-)

#7 A data point for you, grb: In my synagogue, for some reason all the Jews-by-choice have really beautiful voices. The choir is at least half converts. Does that help? ;-)

#9 At what point would a logical person (I realize that most of them are not) wonder, why any God would require this much destruction to the faithful. I mean if Allah is so good and powerful, would'nt we be fighting them this way, as the only way to beat thier God.

#10 More bad news for Israel, I'm afraid. Just heard on the news that the Iranian President Ahmadinejad warned that if Israel didn't leave Gaza immediately, that Iran and other muslim nations, would target Israel for violence!!

Boy oh boy. Ya think ya know people. Israel lives in perfect peace and harmony with the entire Muslim world for 58 freaking years, and one little incursion into Gaza spoils the whole thing!!

#19 Heartiest congratulations, CrazyFool! And a heartfelt welcome to the newest Rantburger (boy or girl???? not because we'd love it differently, but just so that we know whether to send pink or blue wishes). Oh, and our pediatrician said we could expect to sleep through the night when the trailing daughters reached 11 pounds -- and so it proved, lo! those many years ago.

#22 Thanks all! Really apprecited. Boy Anthony [Fool] was born on the 19th - 6 weeks before his due date (SUPRISE MOMMY AND DADDY!). After 10 days in the NICU he's came home and is doing quite well (as is Mrs [not a] Fool after a csection) - just a little fussy last night. He is our second.

Thanks again! Oh and birth stats: 5 lbs 9 oz, 18 inches long. Now going on 6 lbs. Current occupation: Sleeping, eating, peeing and pooping... :)
