#6 Palestinian officials appealed Thursday for international monitors to help with their presidential elections and urged Israel's unilateral plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip be folded into a stalled international peace plan.

Which is another way of saying that they want the Gaza Strip withdrawal to be stalled, while (how coincidental-like) tearing down the protective fence in accordance to the one-party ICC ruling.

They know that the danger to them is that they'll be rendered less of a danger to the Israelis, with a corresponding loss of bargaining power...

#8 What good do these "monitors" do? Were there any present when Arafart was first "elected"? If yes, then a fat lot of good their presence did.

#9 With the influx of flat panel displays, we should have plenty of monitors avaiable to drop on the Palestinians for use in elections...from a C-130.
