#1 Putin tried but the west and Ukraine wanted wanted their little war like a flea on a dog. Russia is going its way now and will continue the obliteration of the Ukrainian collection of NATO forces. 100,000 Ukrainian deaths slipped out but covered up immediately. Winter now and Russia will make their move. It has been said 1,000,000 Russian force and modern offensive military equipment now gathered. I do see Bordering nations being offered former lands they had lost after WW11. This will be the salve to cure what ales Poland. Poles will always hate Russia. So this joke goes; What is the difference between a Russian and a cat fish?. One is a fish and the other is a bottom feeder.
