The Comrade Stalin who consistently ignored solid evidence that Hitler was about to invade?

The Comrade Stalin who got his country into a war with Finland and got his ass handed to him?

The Comrade Stalin who, upon being notified of the German invasion, withdrew for almost three days before addressing his people?

That Comrade Stalin?

#3 Russians pine for Stalin, a Georgian, to lead them again. I mean, he only had more millions than Hitler murdered, big deal and almost 100% of his victims were ethnic Russians.

Why wouldn't Russians want him back? He represents strength with ISIS mentality and that's what Russia is.

#5 If you're a college student who has to write a term paper for a history class, there is no more fascinating character than Joe Stalin. But the whole time you're researching and writing that paper, you thank your lucky stars you weren't living in the USSR while he was running the show.

Some might argue that, given the way Russians are/were especially after the Bolshevik Revolution, Stalin was the only man who could successfully mobilize resistance to the Nazi invasion. They might even argue that the terror he imposed on Russians was necessary to instill obedience to the state. Of course, it is doubtful that either Nicholas II or Alexander Kerensky could have won that war.

Some Russians, even when they were sitting in boxcars bound for the gulags, revered Joe Stalin as some kind of a god. "If only Joe Stalin knew about this...", they would say. But Joe knew.

I think the sad fact is, if you're caught between Joe Stalin and Adolph Hitler, you're in for a very hard time.
