The Trachtenumzug (don't ask me how to translate that) just went along fine. Btw you learn a lot about patriotism and tolerance when you join a Trachtenverein or Schützenverein.

#6 Schutzenverein? Here in heavily German-descent Cincinnati there's a Schutzenfest that includes lots of firearms and beer.

#7 I didn't know about the Schutzenfest, Rob, but I do now. Link. Our Oktoberfest -- this weekend, in fact -- has moved up to #1 in the U.S., and when the Hofbrauhaus expanded abroad, they came here first, though they went for what I assume is cheaper real estate in northern Kentucky.
