#1 How can we miss you if you won't say good-bye?

I was sure that Michael Gawenda was the SMH's US correspondent until about 2002 or so, and then Gay Alcorn took over. Maybe I'm hallucinating.

#3 I dunno, apart from the obligatory Bush-blast, it seems like he really does like the place ;)

Certainly, I have problems explaining my understanding of the Constitution and States' laws to people here. They always assume that the Federal government is the uber-ruler, and when I point out that States have their own Constitutions and laws, it usually comes as a surprise...

#5 He does perpetuate myths about America, but at least he took the time to get out of DC and NYC and see at least part of the real country.
