#3 Aren't going to arrest them? Well I guess we better throw them back across the border. You know, the place where Desert meets desert for 100 miles. Don't worry, we'll give them a bottle of Gatorade!

#4 Look at the bright side. Arizona Law Enforcement can probably bus the buggers home at half the cost of the federal government and ICE. Yet another federal agency no longer needed.

You there...grab your sack lunch, Pepsi and climb aboard bus #3 please.

#5 I remember reading recently that with ICE ignoring the issue in NYC, Rikers must let unprocessed illegals out after 48? hours.

So this is not an isolated instance ...

#7 So he means ICE and the Feds won't be doing the same solid, bang-up job like they were before? (sarc/off)

#9 They will still be in violation of Arizona law as well as US law. Arizona probably cannot deport them, but it can provide them with an all expenses paid, 60 day stay at the Joe Arpaio State Park in Douglas. Release them at the Mex border gate.

#10 Release them at the Mex border gate.

Nah, give them a bus ticket to LA, who love them.

This is a dereliction of duty. Hope the boys at ICE are keeping papers on who told them to do, or rather not to do, what. The little phrase is 'obstruction of justice' and as the AGs have shown, you can be maneuvered in a grand jury to impeach yourself qualifying for time in jail. Imagine in the 60s and 70s, federal marshals publicly refusing to carry out civil rights law.

#12 This really makes me wonder how much longer we can hold together as a country. The battling ideals are like water and oil and aren't mixing.

Hopefully the new crop of congressmen from the 2010 prove they are willing to keep to the ideals the founding fathers set, or we are really screwed.

#14 Thursday - don't know if they are related but Judge N is a solid conservative - check him out on Fox from time to time or I believe he has a Fox News Radio show - Brian and the Judge IIRC

#15 Judge Napolitano is often called on to just state existing law and how it is, or is not, enforced. But this does not mean that he endorses it.

He is a serious conservative, and even advocates a constitutional convention to correct what most of us see as overreaching federal power.

Some of his books:

"Lies the Government Told You: Myth, Power, and Deception in American History"

"Constitutional Chaos: What Happens When the Government Breaks Its Own Laws"

"A Nation of Sheep"

"The Constitution in Exile: How the Federal Government Has Seized Power by Rewriting the Supreme Law of the Land"

"Dred Scott's Revenge: A Legal History of Race and Freedom in America"

#16 This really makes me wonder how much longer we can hold together as a country. The battling ideals are like water and oil and aren't mixing.

There is a war going on between the Feds and the States. The Feds, on the one hand, are over-reaching with regards to the centralization of power. States' rights are being completely ignored. The States are being saddled with mandates that are going to break their backs and they realize that. The States are being hamstrung with on-the-ground problems such as illegals and attendant crime and costs. They see the down-the-road problems with health care costs. The States are flexing their muscles and the current regime does not like it.

#18 Again, we should bus them to San Fran, LA, NYC, DC, and Seattle. There we drop them off at the Federal buildings. If they dont want to deal with them, the fed in those states can let them go. No big deal.

#19 Much as I'd like to stick it to LA, it's too close to Arizona - they probably would come back.

And please don't send them to D.C. - as much as those idiots deserve it, the illegals would likely cross over into Virginia and we have too many illegals already.

San Francisco, Seattle, and NYC are good, though. ;-p

#20 Saying Napolitano is a Top Official is a bit misleading since he doesn't work for the government. Just because ICE can does not mean they would refuse to process. It might be politically damaging not to.
Posted by rjschwarz 2010-05-22 11:02||   2010-05-22 11:02|| Front Page Top

#21 Since the Federal government has no intention of guarding the border or enforcing immigration law, maybe Arizona will build their own border barrier and bill the Feds.

#22 Judge Andrew Napolitano is on record as stating that he and HomeLand lady are cousins. He was on Fox and Friends one morning, and was asked that, and answered, "as cousins."
