#6 When the property bubble collapsed in the 80s, state chartered banks and the state's that chartered them couldn't cover the loses, so we had a big bailout back then of non-FDIC institutions by the federal government. We were feed nightly scenes of Ma and Pa little farmer losing his homestead. Of course no one cared to point out that Ma and Pa had leveraged their holdings to play property speculation. One of the bad decisions during the Reagan administration. Remember history is only as long as you can remember as obviously demonstrated by this return to the game.
