#2 So the Starlink becomes a military satellite. And America is involved in the war. Maybe not enough to warrant a nuclear exchange but enough to fuel a new vicious cold war with an old enemy.

#4 I suspect that the DoD has access to lots of commercial satellites, probably because nobody puts up a satellite from a US launch site without US gummint approval. I'd imagine there are all sorts of layers and mechanisms of deniability baked into the arrangements.
