#1 I mentioned it in another thread, but this is probably the better place.

Kerry: "Are you a registered Republican? Are you a Republican? Answer the question."

A little later in the same exchange.

Kerry: "Did you vote for George Bush?"

(Apparently the man did, there were boos from the crowd.)

Kerry: "Thank you"

And the thing was dismissed.

To see him holding the microphone like a confrontational standup comic was the interesting part, to me. Fox & Friends had it this morning, but I didn't see the *NBC coverage.

Kerry is arrogant AND dishonest. Kerry should be pressed on this point for the next few weeks.

#2 Classic technique, skip the question and put the other guy on the defensive.

The guy should have not answered at the first question (about being a Republican), he should have replied: "Mr Kerry, whatever am I Republican, Democrat or the Pople it doesn't change the truth to my question, it is YOU not me who is asking the people to vote for you. It is YOU who has to answer questions: name those foreign leaders who endorse you."

Hope this helps if one of you ever has a chance to confront Kerry.

#3 I don't think that's particularly negative to Kerry - all it does is show that bringing up this subject is worthy of being booed.

I agree, it makes Kerry look like the Jerk that he is - but for his supporters, this creates the impression that this topic is not serious and need only be addressed with sneers and jeers of a right wing conspiracy. I think it's helpful for his supporters....though I don't know how it will play to the center.

#4 The guy may have been a 'plant' and the whole 'confrontation' planned in advance.

#5 Here in the "People's Republic of PeeAyy," the unsophisticated dem drones lap up that sort of political doubletalk all the time. I'm sure in private conversations dems wish they could make every dem voter "think" as incisively as PeeAyy dem voters do.

#6 Kerry: "Are you a Republican?"

Right Answer: "I'm an American, Senator, and that's all that matters."

#7 If some of you have an occasion to confront Kerry remember the basics: In case he answers your question with another question (in that case Are you a Republican?), NEVER answer it, tell something like
"Who cares, it is you who are asking our votes", "I am an American and that's all that matters" and then IN THE SAME BREATH (don't let him skip to another guy) reformulate your question.

2) DON'T let him to sidetrack: as soon as it seems obvious that he has covertly changed subjects, interrupt him and reformulate the question. But don't do it too soon otherwise you will look rude to the audience. The audience must notice Kerry had sidetracked the question not that you cut him when he was answering him.

#8 JFM, You are, of, course assuming that the audience has not been hand-picked for this 'town meeting' (as in 'Sorry but the tickets have been sold out to the party faithful before it had even been announced.')

I think Clinton used to do this all the time (remember the boxers or briefs question?). Campaign organizers do not want their guy to be on-camera in a uncontrolled environment where they can be embarassed.

#9 "NBC actually reports an incident unfavorable to Kerry"

This statement was meant ironically, I know, but the truth is, Kerry's minders had better keep a close watch on that big mouth of his.

While it's true that the ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC news conglomerate is populated by blatant liberals who are absolutely dying to see Kerry elected, they're still a business; and the business of that business is to get audience share.

Just as with Bill Clinton and John McCain, the minute these newshounds get the notion Kerry is going to be a font of newsworthy, "get-a-load-of-this" verbal gaffes and fox paws, they're going to be on him like a duck on a Junebug. And they won't show him any mercy, either.

Keep 'em coming, Kerry.

#10 Dave, I have a better plan - turn off the TV and read the blogs. Hit them where it hurts, in their viewership.

#11 Wait till Katie Couric ask this same question and watch how he answers it. He'll be alot better rehearsed and Katie can crack a joke and quickly ask another, more personal question designed to hint at at little scandle. Between the sheets, hint, hint. Quick to the break then back again for a Kerry monologue.

#12 Dave D.: The ABCNBCCBS nightly news shared 60 MILLION VIEWERS in 1980. Today, the ABCNBCCBS nightly propaganda report is lucky to draw 18 MILLION VIEWERS. Danny, Penis and Tommy are FRIENDS who do not care about competing for AUDIENCE SHARE. If it was about AUDIENCE SHARE, one would expect at least ONE WING of the ABCNBCCBS network to cater to the vast audience of potential viewers who vote Republican. As for KKKerry: He is a lying sack of Teddy Kennedy's excrement. As KKKerry is campaigning for Republican votes, Republicans have every right to PLANT themselves in his townhall lovefests and ASK HIM TOUGH QUESTIONS. President Bush has to answer the questions of Democrat PLANTS everytime he stands for an interview with the reporters in the dominant left-wing media. President Bush is a MAN. KKKerry is a mYn.
