#3 Power grab. Long Knives.

This is the same impulse that propelled the Salem Witch Trials and the other episodes of terror: greedy opportunistic jackals spotting a chance to grab power and loot.

Neighbors coveting land in Salem MA. Germans coveting their Jewish neighbors' wealth. Soviet snitches seeking to elbow a rival out of the way, or grab a neighbor's fancier or better-lighted apartment.

Now we have ambitious little shrewish backbencher pols seeking to clamber up the hierarchy by knocking down the man who was expected at one point to run against and defeat Trump.

At the NYTimes it was "jackals" pursuing, cornering and destroying one of their own-- no doubt in order to elbow a rival out of the way.

MeToo, BLM, Wokery: it's all a racket. A cover for simple greed envy and extortion.

What a disgusting, wretched spectacle.
