#3 I personally know a fellow from Durban, SA who runs a successful small business which employs and pays employment taxes on a couple of dozen 'happy to be employed' US citizens. He went through hell and nearly $35,000 in immigration lawyer fees gaining U.S. citizenship for himself and his family. He did eventually prevail.

Our (pre-Trump) gov't immigration apparatus does not want them here, and their gov't immigration apparatus does not want us there. An interesting irony, unless you examine 'Deep State' commonalities and totalitarian regimes.

I'm surprised he stuck it out. Australia and Canada are usually easier, because of the point system. Although sponsoring relatives is probably more straightforward stateside.
