Britain
Poll: 46% of UK Muslims support Hamas, only 1 in 4 believe terrorists committed atrocities on October 7
[IsraelTimes] Just one in four Moslems in the UK believe that Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
forces of Evil committed murder and rape in Israel on October 7, according to a British poll.

The survey, cited by the Daily Telegraph, also finds that 46 percent of British Moslems support the Paleostinian terror group.

Commissioned by London-based think tank the Henry Jackson Society, the poll comes on the six month anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 massacre, which saw some 3,000 forces of Evil burst across the border into Israel, killing some 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages, mostly civilians, amid horrific acts of brutality and sexual assault.

In terms of UK government policy, the survey finds that almost half (46%) of British Moslems believe Jews have too much power. By way of comparison, only 16% of the general public agrees with this sentiment.
The stereotype is that native Brits are Jew-haters, but apparently not.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Festive prayers were held in mosques in the south of Russia on Eid al-Fitr
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The mosques of Nalchik and Rostov-on-Don could not accommodate all those who came to the festive prayers on Eid al-Adha. In Dagestan, interest in Eid al-Fitr among children is growing; they willingly participate in the traditions associated with this holiday, residents of the republic said.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, in 2024 the fasting month of Ramadan began in most of the republics of the North Caucasus on March 11, in Dagestan the first day of Ramadan was declared on March 12. In connection with the Eid al-Fitr holiday,  days from April 10 to 12 were declared non-working in Dagestan, and from April 9 to 11 in Chechnya. Residents of Makhachkala said that food prices had increased significantly before Eid al-Adha, and the mosques were crowded for the holiday.

Ramadan  is the ninth month of the Muslim lunar calendar, a month of fasting, spiritual and moral purification, as well as strengthening faith and will. During Ramadan, Muslims must abstain from food and drink during daylight hours. The month of fasting ends with the holiday of breaking  the fast of  Eid al-Fitr.

According to Mufti Bata Kifah Mohamad, about two thousand people gathered in the Volzhsky mosque today. He noted that believers from all over the region usually come to the central mosque in Volzhsky. In total, there are approximately 200 thousand Muslims in the region, the Volgograd Notebook reported.

Hundreds of Muslims performed festive prayers in a mosque  in Stavropol this morning. The building without minarets and domes is located on Oktyabrskaya Street, behind the Voskhod factory. Mosque volunteers prepared five cauldrons of pilaf, which will be served to everyone. In addition, treats are distributed to believers, the ATV Media television company reported on its website.

A festive prayer (Eid namaz), performed by Muslims on the holidays of Kurban Bayram and Eid al -Fitr, took place in the mosques of Karachay-Cherkessia . The start time for holiday prayers begins 30 minutes after sunrise, RIA Karachay-Cherkessia reported today, publishing a fragment of a crowded holiday prayer in one of the mosques in the republic on its Telegram channel.

In Rostov-on-Don, Muslims gathered for worship at the mosque on Furmanovskaya Street, Donday reported today. As follows from a photo report published by the publication, many Muslims were forced to pray on the street.

The Nalchik Cathedral Mosque, where a festive service dedicated to the end of the month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr was held, could not accommodate everyone; many parishioners settled in the courtyard of the mosque, RIA Kabardino-Balkaria reported.

The heads of the regions of southern Russia congratulated Muslims on the holiday in their Telegram channels. Thus, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that he celebrated the holiday in his ancestral village. “The blessed holiday of Eid al-Fitr for Muslims begins with the performance of a number of important religious rituals. When morning comes, they perform obligatory prayer, visit the graves of relatives and friends, and pay zakat al-Fitr. Also, in populated areas, believers gather for collective Eid prayer, after which the main part of the holiday of breaking the fast begins. We performed today’s morning prayer in the mosque of my ancestral village of Akhmat-Yurt,” he wrote in his telegram channel.

In Dagestan, the authorities emphasized that one of the traditions associated with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr is being preserved. “One of the most beloved traditions of the Eid al-Fitr holiday, which passes from generation to generation, is when children go home and congratulate them on the holiday! They are treated to sweets,” the Magaramkent district administration said today, publishing photographs of children with gifts.

Europe
EU parliament approves new policies that make migration, asylum harder
[UNDEFINED] European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
politicians approved Wednesday a major revamp of the bloc’s migration laws, hoping to end years of division over how to manage the entry of thousands of people without authorization and deprive the far right of a vote-winning campaign issue ahead of June elections.

In a series of 10 votes, members of the European Parliament endorsed the regulations and policies that make up the Pact on Migration and Asylum. The reforms address the thorny issue of who should take responsibility for migrants colonists when they arrive and whether other EU countries should be obliged to help.

The proceedings were briefly interrupted by a small but noisy group of demonstrators in the public gallery who wore shirts marked "this pact kills" and shouted "vote no!"

The 27 EU member countries must now endorse the reform package, possibly in a vote in late April, before it can take effect.

European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, a former lead politician on migration who helped pave the way for the reform package, posted "History made," on X, formerly Twitter, after the votes.

"It has been more than 10 years in the making. But we kept our word. A balance between solidarity and responsibility. This is the European way," she wrote.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser described the result as a "major and very important success."

"After years of tough negotiations, we have agreed on this comprehensive package. We have thus overcome a deep division in Europe," said Faeser, whose country has been a top destination for people seeking refuge, in a written statement.

"We continue to protect people fleeing terrible wars, terror, torture and murder. But this responsibility for refugees will be spread across more shoulders in future," she added.

The plan was drawn up after 1.3 million people, mostly those fleeing war in Syria and Iraq, sought refuge in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
in 2015. The EU’s asylum system collapsed, reception centers were overwhelmed in Greece and Italia, and countries further north built barriers to stop people entering.

But few have admitted to being happy with the new policy response to one of Europe’s biggest political crises, and even the politicians who drafted parts of the new regulations are unwilling to support the entire reform package.

"I’m not going to open a bottle of champagne after this," Dutch politician Sophie i’nt Veld, who drew up the assembly’s position on migrant reception conditions, told news hounds on the eve of the plenary session in Brussels.

European Parliament supports tightening EU migration standards
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Members of the European Parliament supported the EU pact on migration and asylum, which includes the tightening of all EU migration standards, RTE reported on April 10 on its page on the social network X.
A very good idea, and long overdue.
“The European Parliament has voted to adopt... a legislative package to revise EU rules on asylum and migration,” it said.

The material says that the reforms have been developed since 2015.
Not even a decade in the making, yo!
/sarc
In particular, principles are being introduced for the creation of filtration camps
[FEMA!]
at the EU borders for migrants who do not have obvious rights to asylum, this should simplify their possible subsequent deportation outside the European Union.
[Ghetto building at the border. When has it ever worked?]
The pact also simplifies the procedure for the expulsion from European countries of all persons denied asylum or residence permits. In addition, a mandatory principle of quota settlement of migrants in EU countries is being introduced, but EU countries can reduce their number by paying a fine to the EU budget
[grifters!]
for each migrant not accepted. Revenues should be used to equip EU borders and migration camps.
[But the public is already paying a fine for every one that is admitted!]
Decisions of the European Parliament are advisory in nature and are not binding for EU countries. The package of documents must be approved by a qualified majority of votes in the EU Council, after which the European Commission will present a roadmap for implementing these reforms in practice.

As reported by IA Regnum, previously the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell, stated that migration could become “a destructive force for the European Union.” He explained that this situation has arisen due to deep cultural differences between European countries, which is why they cannot agree and develop a common migration policy.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in turn, noted that Brussels is imposing a migration pact on the countries, with which Budapest does not agree. Orban added that Poland also opposes this innovation.

Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak stated that if the EU authorities accept this pact, it will be suicide for the EU. There will only be more migrants, and no integration should be expected, Blaszczak emphasized.

Mehbooba Mufti Accuses BJP: Unemployed Youth Targeting Muslims, Says Party Fails On Promised Jobs
April 2, 2024
Not much is being reported across India of interest to us here at Rantburg. Perhaps, like in Kashmir, things will heat up as the weather warms.
[OneIndia] PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday charged that the BJP has emboldened the unemployed youth in the country to target Moslems for venting their frustration.

She was reacting to a media report that an Imam of a mosque in Uttar Pradesh's Khushinagar was allegedly beaten up by miscreants and the police refused to act against the assailants.

Mehbooba targets BJP over attack on minorities

"BJP claims it has replaced stones with laptops in Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
. But just a glance at what is happening in the rest of the country is ample proof that they've emboldened disgruntled unemployed youngsters to wield lathis & dandas at muslims only to vent their frustration," the PDP president charged in a post on X.

Article 370 Verdict: Mehbooba Mufti Under House Arrest, Lt Governor Rejects PDP Claims, Says It's 'Baseless'Article 370 Verdict: Mehbooba Mufti Under House Arrest, Lt Governor Rejects PDP Claims, Says It's 'Baseless'

She said it was tragic that the youth were fine with their future being destroyed as long as they can target Moslems. "Instead of fulfilling their own promises of two crore jobs they've reduced them to dangais & gundas. What makes it even more tragic is the fact that these young men are okay with their futures being destroyed as long as they get to punish & humiliate muslims," she added.

Poonch Terror Attack Army probe picks up lapses in killing of 3 civilians last December
[GreaterKashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain.
] Apr 5: The Army’s internal inquiries into the killing of three civilians, allegedly during interrogation by Army personnel following a terror attack in J&K’s Poonch in December 2023 that left four soldiers dead, have found serious lapses and operational gaps in the conduct of seven to eight personnel, including officers, at various levels, The Indian Express reported.

Sources have told The Indian Express that the findings of the inquiries indicate that the three civilians died of torture, allegedly during interrogation.

The terror attack took place on December 21 on the Mughal Road between Dehra Ki Gali and Bufliaz. The next morning, eight civilians were picked up from Topa Pir in Poonch district’s Bufliaz area, and five from Rajouri district’s Thanamandi area.

Of the eight taken away from Topa Pir, three died of injuries sustained during the alleged torture.

The inquiries are learnt to have found lapses in the overall conduct of the operation as well as the individual conduct of certain personnel.

Administrative and disciplinary action have been recommended against two officers and other ranks who were either directly or indirectly responsible for the interrogation.

The sources said that the initial findings have indicated administrative lapses and a lack of command and control on the part of the Brigade Commander of 13 Sector RR and the Commanding Officer (CO) of 48 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).

While the Brigade Commander was not physically present at the site, the CO was on leave — they have since been moved out. Although they were not directly involved in any misdemeanour, administrative action has been recommended against them. Not necessarily at the spot most times, they are responsible for ensuring the implementation of SoPs and other drills.

Suitable disciplinary action, sources said, has also been recommended against two officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks who were present during the interrogation of the civilians who had been rounded up. One of the officers was learnt to have been responsible for the CO’s role in his absence.

Sources said while the two officers may not have been directly involved in the physical torture which allegedly led to the deaths, they were responsible for ensuring that interrogation was done in line with rules. Hence, the recommendation for disciplinary action against them.

In the military, disciplinary action could mean a court martial. Punishment could include the death penalty
, depending on the seriousness of the offence. Administrative action would mean departmental action minus a trial. Punishment could include loss of seniority, a fine, censure or even termination of service.

According to the sources, the inquiries have been finalised after being vetted for legal procedures and other details, including invoking Army Rule 180 wherein the accused gets the option to cross-question witnesses to clarify statements.

Based on the directions of the inquiry reports, the entire evidence is being collected in the form of a summary of evidence. Based on that, further action such as a General Court Martial would be ordered.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Alamo, Davy was counting their remaining cannon balls and not liking the results...
48 RR, the unit involved in the incident, has been made to regroup and retrain under a new Commanding Officer. It has been redeployed in another sector under the Nagrota-based XVI Corps.

The Indian Express reported that in response to their queries, the Army said that investigations into the incident are still in progress and it may be premature to arrive at outcomes at this stage.

"The Indian Army is committed to conducting a thorough and impartial inquiry to ascertain the facts surrounding this incident. All efforts are in place to ensure that the investigations are fair, comprehensive and conclusive. Further actions will be determined based on the outcome of the investigations," it said.

The Army said it is committed to upholding the highest standards of discipline, conduct and ethics, by the law besides maintaining zero-tolerance towards any human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
violations.

"Our protocols and procedures are designed to ensure that all personnel adhere to these principles, even under the most challenging operational conditions," it said.

Following the incident, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh along with Army Chief General Manoj Pande visited Rajouri and met the families of the three civilians who died. The families said Singh had assured them justice.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
'Hamas leader's chilling reaction as he is told his three sons have been killed by IDF - shrugging off the news and saying 'No, why? Let's continue' when asked if he wants to end hospital tour
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Chilling video shows the moment top Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh hears for the first time that his three sons and a some of his grandchildren have been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.

A voice can be heard delivering the news to the group's top political leader during a visit to injured Palestinians, saying: 'Hazem, Mohammed and Amir have been killed, along with their children.'

Haniyeh barely flinches as he hears the information, and remains composed as he nods and takes it in before slowly walking out of the room. 'God rest their souls,' he says, before he is asked by an aide: 'Shall we end the visit?'

The Hamas chief nonchalantly responds: 'No, why? Let's continue,' as he walks to the door, followed by his entourage and officials. The group were meeting wounded Palestinians at a hospital in Qatar, where Haniyeh lives in exile.

Haniyeh, who has 13 sons and daughters according to Hamas sources, later said his three sons and four of his grandchildren were killed in a fatal strike near the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City. Israel claims Mohammed and Hazem were Hamas military operatives, while Amir was a cell commander.

Haniyeh, 61, later confirmed the news to Al Jazeera, telling the broadcaster: 'I am grateful to God for the honor he has given me in the deaths of three of my children and a few of my grandchildren.'

'My sons were awarded this honor. They remained with our Palestinian people in Gaza, did not leave and did not run,' he said, adding: 'The blood of my sons is not dearer than the blood of our people.'

The terror leader hit out at Israel, stating they are 'driven by the spirit of revenge' as he claimed around 60 members of his family have been killed since the start of the war.

Hamas later said that four of Haniyeh's grandchildren, named as Mona, Amal, Khaled and Razan, were among those killed in what they described as the 'treacherous and cowardly' strike. The Israeli military did not comment on the reports.

A report today has suggested that Israeli forces carried out the air strike without consulting senior commanders or political leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Quoting senior Israeli officials, Walla news agency said neither Netanyahu nor Defence Minister Yoav Gallant had been told in advance of the strike, which was coordinated by the Israeli military and the Shin Bet intelligence service.

It said Amir, Mohammad and Hazem Haniyeh had been targeted as fighters and not because they were the sons of Hamas's political leader.

No comment on the Walla report was immediately available from the prime minister's office or the military.

The IDF claimed that the three Haniyeh brothers were 'en route to carry out terror activity in the area of central Gaza' when they were hit by the strike.

According to a report by Israeli broadcaster Kan, the IDF alleged that one of Haniyeh's sons was involved in holding hostages, though it did not offer further information or specify which.

Pictures purporting to show Hazem, Amir and Mohammed Haniyeh have been circulating on Palestinian media channels.

Images have also emerged of the scene of the strike, with the shell of a bombed-out car pictured being inspected by passersby in Shati camp, west of Gaza City.

Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...

Speaking at the ceremony yesterday, IAF chief Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar said the new squadron was a "tremendous addition."

"In this justified war, the entire UAV array demonstrates operational competence and extremely high operational effectiveness. Thousands of Hamas

#4  While not cheap, the drones are much cheaper than front line combat aircraft.

This is known as being "attrittable," as in some losses are expected in a hot conflict.

Police reportedly mulling probe into Tel Aviv U lecturer who eulogized terror convict
[IsraelTimes] Police may open a criminal investigation into a Tel Aviv University lecturer who eulogized Paleostinian terror convict Walid Daka, who died in jail last week, the Ynet news site reports.

In a post on Facebook, Anat Matar, a senior lecturer in Tel Aviv’s Philosophy Department, called Daka a "dear and beloved friend" and "an endless source of inspiration."

She also offered condolences to Daka’s family and the Paleostinian people over the loss of "one of its greatest sons."

Daka, an Israeli citizen sentenced to life behind bars for being part of a cell that kidnapped and killed Israeli soldier Moshe Tamam in 1984, died of cancer last week at age 62.

According to Ynet, police need permission from the state prosecutor to open a probe into Matar for supporting terror.

Matar’s post drew protests from right-wing groups and some students, who held a rally last week calling on the university to fire the veteran academic and activist, the site reported.

The school told Ynet it condemned her remarks, and said they would be looked at in terms of whether she violated the school’s free speech guidelines.

Matar, head of the Israeli Committee for the Paleostinian Prisoners, has long been known as a strident critic of Israeli policies vis-a-vis the Paleostinians. In 2011, she co-authored a book on Paleostinians incarcerated by Israel for security offenses, calling into question Israel’s approach toward legal procedures and treatment of inmates.

Intel report: Qatar’s funding, policies led directly to Oct. 7; it shouldn’t be key mediator
[IsraelTimes] Report by intelligence veterans on behalf of lawyers for Hamas victims’ families says US has long known the scale of Doha’s malign activities, harm to US and allies’ interests, yet still fails to act

A confidential report by a team of veteran US and Israeli intelligence professionals working on behalf of lawyers for the families of October 7 victims contends that Qatar

#1  And who are the Americans who champion relations with Qatar? Why, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Brookings, of course. Then there is the Pentagon that just loves its base in Qatar, just as much as Qatar appreciates the security it provides the Al-Thani family who run the place.

#2  The Iraq invasion of Kuwait and then Operation Desert Storm that finally solidified ruling Al Thani family thinking that Qatar needed a powerful friend to ensure its survival. During the 1991 war, the USA-led coalition forces were welcomed in Qatar. Palestinians who opposed that opening were expelled. Following the war both Iraq and Iran remained threats to Qatar's petroleum interests and Qatar signed a defense pact with the USA. In one of history's great balancing acts, it is thanks to the United States interest in the Persian Gulf that Qatar has managed to survive the threats of three mortal enemies: Neither Saudi Arabia, Iran, nor Egypt would shed a tear if Qatar were effaced from the world's body politic. Still, although it is doubted that one in fifty Americans could find Qatar on a map, Qatar is an American protectorate.

Multiple people shot at Philadelphia event marking end of Ramadan
[NYPOST] Gunshots rang out during an Eid al-Fitr event in West Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, leaving at least two people maimed, reports said.
Sunni vs Shiite or the traditional gun s3x?
[perhaps just Philly]
The incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. near the Philadelphia Masjid mosque and the Sister Clara Muhammad School, FOX 29 reported.

Over 1,000 people — including families with children — are believed to have been at the outdoor event to celebrate Eid, an Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.

Parents who may have been separated from their children during the chaos were given a staging location to reunite with their loved ones, FOX 29 added.

Authorities "made numerous arrests and at least 4 guns were recovered" from the scene, FOX 29’s Steve Keeley reported, citing police sources.

At least one Philadelphia police officer fired their weapon, he added.

Two people were reportedly hospitalized as of 3 p.m. One person may have been shot by an officer responding to the gunfire, Philly Crime Alerts said.

"I heard a lot of people running, right, left, with their kids. They came inside, and we had to lock the door, they were scared," Abdullah, a shopkeeper at a nearby market, told FOX 29.

"They told me someone had been shot there," he said of the terrifying incident.

A pedestrian running from the scene was hit by a car. The extent of their injuries was unknown, according to reports.

A heavy police presence could be seen on aerial video from FOX 29.

When reached by The Post, the Philadelphia Police Department declined to comment on the developing situation.

IRGC naval chief threatens to close key strait, says response to consulate attack coming
[IsraelTimes] The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps navy says it could close the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime route where much of the world’s oil passes, if deemed necessary.

"We can close the Hormuz Strait, but are not doing so. However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
if the enemy comes to disrupt us, we will review our policy," Revolutionary Guards Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri tells pro-Hezbollah Lebanese outlet al-Meyadeen.

He says if US nuclear vessels enter Iranian waters, the Hormuz Strait "will become unusable for several years."

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has threatened to close the strait in response to tensions with Israel and the US in the past.

The commander also says Israel’s presence in the United Arab Emirates is viewed as a threat by Tehran.

"We know that the Zionists were not brought to the UAE for economic purposes, but rather for security and military work. This is a threat to us and should not happen," Tangsiri says.

He also says Iran is taking its time, but will eventually respond to an alleged Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on its consulate in Syria’s capital on April 1 that killed seven Revolutionary Guards officers, including two senior commanders.

"We do not get hit without striking back, but we are also not hasty in our retaliation," Tangsiri says.

#2  When my mother married, she was gifted a complete set of copper-bottomed Revereware pots and pans. Beautiful things, perfect for small children (of which she had four in four years, because my parents started late) to bang on the kitchen floor while singing extemporaneously together. When I married, my mother gifted me my very own set of Revereware copper-bottomed pots and pan. Sadly, in the meantime the copper had gone from a full 1/4” thickness to the very palest of washes, no doubt a great cost saving for the manufacturer; it looked very pretty when first taken out of the box, but wore off as soon as I ventured necessary scrubbing.

Thus is the iron cladding of President Biden’s promise compared to those of presidents past. In my considered opinion, of course.
