DOJ official Kristen Clarke comes clean after falsely testifying to Senate that she had never been arrested
[NY Post] Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke admitted Wednesday that she was arrested and chose not to disclose the legal matter during her Senate confirmation process because it had been expunged from her record.

During her 2021 confirmation process, Clarke, who now heads the Justice Department’s civil rights division, was asked by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) in a questionnaire if she’d "ever been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person."

To which Clarke responded, "No."

The Daily Signal reported on Tuesday that Clarke was arrested in Maryland in relation to a domestic violence complaint back in 2006.

The outlet cited court documents, her ex-husband Reginald Avery and text messages between Avery and the head of the American Accountability Foundation (a conservative nonprofit group).

Avery told the outlet that his finger was "sliced to the bone" after Clarke allegedly came at him with a knife after he revealed that he was cheating on her.

Charges against Clarke were dropped, and more than a year later, she filed paperwork that would wipe the arrest from her record.

"Nearly 2 decades ago, I was subjected to years-long abuse and domestic violence at the hands of my ex-husband," Clarke said in a statement to CNN on Wednesday.

"This was a terrorizing and traumatizing period that I have sought to put behind me to promote my personal health, healing and well-being," she added. "The physical and emotional scars, the emotional abuse and exploitation, and the lying are things that no woman or mother should ever have to endure."

Clarke asserted that since the arrest was expunged, she wasn’t required to disclose it to lawmakers.

"When given the option to speak about such traumatic incidents in my life, I have chosen not to," the Biden administration official said. "I didn’t believe during my confirmation process and I don’t believe now that I was obligated to share a fully expunged matter from my past."

At least one Republican is demanding that Clarke step down from her role at DOJ, arguing that she should have disclosed her arrest.

"Kristen Clarke is in charge of enforcing civil rights laws. She enforces those laws aggressively against anyone who sneezes near an abortion clinic. And not at all against those who vandalize churches," Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) wrote on X.

"She lied under oath during her confirmation proceedings, and should resign," the senator said.
Keep up with today's most important news

Clarke does not appear to have any intention to resign.

"As I have done at every stage of my career as a life-long public servant, I will continue working to ensure that we carry out our work in a way that centers the experiences and needs of crime victims," she said.

#1  ...When I recruited for the USAF, I would occasionally run into someone who swore they had no record at all. Honest and for true. Promise and pinky swear.

Only to be SERIOUSLY surprised when something, always complicating but sometimes disqualifying, came back. Their response was INVARIABLY:

"But my attorney said that no one could ever see this!"

Au contraire, I would reply. McDonald's or K Mart can't see it if they're doing a background check but the United States By-God Air Force, in all its power, wisdom, and majesty sure as Hell can. By the by, a variation on this was when a prospect would at least say, "Yes, but it's been expunged," only to be Disappointed.

I am going to go out on a limb and suggest a scenario here. Since AAG Clarke was a Biden hire - and we all know how well they're vetted (looking at you, Mister Nuclear Crossdressing Luggage Stealing Guy) - nobody even thought about doing a checkout. If they had, somebody was told to memory hole it PDQ.

#5  Only if everyone was a saint. I, much like Jesus, believe in redemption. What is the point of expungement if it does not do what its definition implies. And what is the definition of Expunge?

1 : to strike out, obliterate, mark for deletion.
2 : to efface completely; destroy.
3 : to eliminate from one's consciousness.

I dont feel strongly about expunging violent crimes, but I do believe in process and expungement is a legal process available for people who need a redemption arc to their life story: Do your time, rehabilitate, be better, and move on with life.

Emails show Facebook chafed at Biden White House pressure to suppress COVID-19 lab leak story
[JustTheNews] The preliminary staff report is the result of a months-long investigation into the alleged coercion, where President Joe Biden's White House reportedly pushed social media platforms such as Facebook, Amazon, and YouTube, to censor books, videos, and posts

Emails released Wednesday show Facebook officials chafed at the Biden White House pressure campaign to censor reports that the COVID-19 pandemic came from a lab leak in China.

Facebook's President of Global Affairs Nick Clegg described the White House as "highly cynical and dishonest," in an email dated July 2021, according to an 800-page report from the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The report detailed alleged coercion between the Biden White House and Big Tech.

The full report can be found here.

Committee Chairman Jim Jordan highlighted portions of the report, which allegedly showed Facebook officials commenting on the "intense pressure" they felt from the Biden administration. The company had censored reports that the virus was "man made" from February through May of 2021 when it started demoting the reports instead.

Internal emails from July of 2021 showed Clegg's frustration with the Biden administration when he asked why the company removed reports that the virus was "man made." Members of his team responded and admitted that they should not have caved to external pressure.

"Because we were under pressure from the administration and others to do more and it was part of the ’more’ package," a team member said. "We shouldn’t have done it."

Jordan claimed the documents showed a "chilling effect" that the government had on social media platforms amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Facebook knew the White House wanted them to censor, but they didn’t exactly know what or how much," Jordan said in a thread on X. "The First Amendment is first for a reason. Without it, we cannot enjoy our other liberties."

The emails were part of a preliminary staff report that came out of a months-long investigation into a larger campaign to pressure social media platforms such as Facebook, Amazon, and YouTube, to censor books, videos, and posts.

"The First Amendment prohibits the government from 'abridging the freedom of speech.' Thus, 'any law or government policy that reduces that freedom on the [social media] platforms . . . violates the First Amendment,'" the committee said in a press release. "By suppressing free speech and intentionally distorting public debate in the modern town square, ideas and policies were no longer fairly tested and debated on their merits."

The report concluded that the White House censorship targeted "true information, satire, and other content that did not violate the platforms' policies," and that the White House had leverage because the companies had other policy concerns they needed addressed by the Biden administration that was unrelated to the censorship.

White House officials have denied the reports that they tried to pressure social media platforms to censor material on their sites, claiming the sites had the power to say no without any repercussions.

"We had no intention in coercing any social media companies into taking any action," Andy Slavitt, the administration’s former head of Covid-19 response, told Jordan in a hearing Wednesday. "We never received any indication that our dialogue ever was interpreted that way. I want to be clear that they made their own decisions."

Rep Matt Gaetz Calls For Investigation Into BOMBSHELL O'Keefe Video Showing (Now Fired) Alleged CIA Contractor Saying Intel Agencies Coordinated to HIDE Information From Trump While He Was a Sitting President! [VIDEO]
[Gateway] According to O’Keefe, Amjad Fseisim, a program manager working in Cyber Operations for the CIA and an NSAGov contractor with top-secret clearance working for Deloitte was caught in an undercover video implicating the highest levels of the intelligence agencies, including "The executive staff. We’re talking about the director and his subordinates," former CIA Directors "Gina Haspel....And I believe Mike Pompeo did the same thing too," "kept information from him [Trump] because we knew he’d fucking disclose it." Amjad reasons "There are certain people that would...give him a high-level overview but never give him any details. You know why? Because he’ll leak those details...He’s a Russian asset. He’s owned by the fucking Russians."
@mikepompeo

"So the agencies kind of, like, all got together and said, we’re not gonna tell Trump...Director of the CIA would keep [information from Trump]..."

Amjad reveals to OMG’s Undercover American Swiper that intel agencies not only kept intelligence information from a sitting United States President and Commander-In-Chief, they also used FISA to spy on realDonaldTrump and his team and are still monitoring President Trump according to Amjad who says, "We monitor everything." Amjad adds, "We also have people that monitor his ex-wife. He likes to use burner phones" — information only an insider with access to highly sensitive information would state.

"We steal it [information]" and "We hack other countries just like that," Amjad, who states he currently works on the CIA’s China Mission Center, explains how intel agencies obtain information. He also describes a broken intelligence system where "We don’t share information across agencies" because the CIA is "very reluctant" to share information with the "careless" NSA.

I'm pretty sure that photographs of Soviet missiles in Cuba taken by US planes were highly classified before the Kennedy administration decided to disclose them to the world public.

Also this isn't that big of a bombshell.

During Trump's presidency it came out that Trump was being consciously deceived about US troop deployments, essentially deposing him as CiC.

Donald Trump issues direct threat to Joe Biden, family
[GEO.TV] Former US president Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
has issued a stark warning to the incumbent commander-in-chief of the country Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. ‘This Is A Man ThatDoes Not Seem Demented’...
as the Republican is enmeshed in his legal woes that are exhausting him financially and physically, according to the interview published by the Time magazine.

The 77-year-old former president is facing his first criminal trial about hush money payments that were allegedly paid to Stormy Daniels in 2016.

Trump while revealing one of his priorities after being elected to the Oval Office said that Joe Biden and his family would face several prosecutions under his administration.

And on one condition, the Democrat President would be forgiven only if Trump is granted immunity in his legal battle by the top court of the US.

Trump also shared how his administration would look like which the publican called "an imperial presidency that would reshape America and its role in the world".

The business mogul also issued a threat that he would appoint a special prosecutor to probe Biden and his family members if he secures the victory in November.

Donald Trump remarked about taking vengeance: "It depends what happens with the Supreme Court."

If immunity is not granted "then Biden I am sure will be prosecuted for all of his crimes, because he’s committed many crimes".

James O'Keefe Releases Undercover Video of CIA Contractor Admitting CIA Director Withheld Info from Trump and Spied on His Presidency
[GatewayPundit] James O’Keefe last Friday warned he was about to release the most important story of his entire career.

“I have evidence that exposes the CIA, and it’s on camera. I am working on releasing a story that I believe is the most important of my entire career,” O’Keefe said on Friday.

“Do you think it’s a coincidence that right at this moment I am subject to an endless series of attacks?” he said. “This is obviously a sophisticated information operation designed to stop me from releasing this story. I’m sure you recognize they are masters of using half-truths and innuendos to raise doubt against people who don’t deserve it. It’s meant to consume my time and energy and make me back down.”

“But I’m not going to let it work. Rest assured, nothing will stop me from releasing this story,” O’Keefe said.

O’Keefe Media Group on Wednesday released part one: Exposing the CIA: A project manager working in cyber operations told OMG’s undercover journalist that the Director of the CIA would keep information from Trump.

He also said the CIA spied on Trump’s presidency and is still monitoring him to this day.

“So the agencies kind of, like, all got together and said, we’re not gonna tell Trump…Director of the CIA would keep [information from Trump]…” Amjad Fseisi, a project manager working in Cyber Operations for the CIA with top-secret security clearance told an undercover journalist.

Amjad Fseisi said Trump is a “Russian asset” – “He’s owned by the f*cking Russians,” he told the undercover journalist.

Per James O’Keefe:

Amjad reveals to OMG’s Undercover American Swiper that intel agencies not only kept intelligence information from a sitting United States President and Commander-In-Chief, they also used FISA to spy on President Trump and his team and are still monitoring President Trump according to Amjad who says, “We monitor everything.” Amjad adds “we also have people that monitor his ex-wife. He likes to use burner phones” – information only an insider with access to highly sensitive information would state.

“We steal it [information]” and “We hack other countries just like that,” Amjad, who states he currently works on the CIA’s China Mission Center, explains how intel agencies obtain information. He also describes a broken intelligence system where “We don’t share information across agencies” because the CIA is “very reluctant” to share information with the “careless” NSA.

O’Keefe Media Group’s bombshell undercover footage supports earlier reports by investigative journalists Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag that revealed how the American intelligence community illegally ran a spy operation against then-candidate Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016 and illegally acquired intelligence that was later used to justify the Federal Bureau of Investigation (@FBI) official probe, “Crossfire Hurricane,” which in turn led to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation that ultimately did not find evidence of Russia collusion by the 2016 Trump campaign.

Contractors like Fseisi hold the duty to withhold sharing confidential or national security information. In denying his statements, Fseisi may have realized he could be held liable for violating internal agency provisions and federal laws like the Executive Agency ethics provisions, which restrict what he may share with others outside of his contracted-to agency. Additionally, any government worker or agency head who withheld information from a superior (i.e. President Trump) may violate: (a) obstruction of justice by deception (18 USC 1512); (b) conspiracy to obstruct (18 USC 371); and false statements (18 USC 1001). Agency regulations may also provide offenses related to insubordination, reflecting poorly on the agency in public, or misrepresentation or dishonesty.

When James O’Keefe caught up with Amjad Fseisi on the streets of Washington, D.C., Fseisi could not tell O’Keefe whether he had top secret clearance, denied making statements clearly caught on camera, and would not even confirm it was him on the video saying only “It looks like me.” When asked directly if he works at the CIA, Fseisi said, “I can’t tell you that.”

The official was terminated following O’Keefe’s undercover sting!

Court stands by decision rejecting undated mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania
[Federalist] The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected an attempt from left-wing organizations to have the court reconsider a ruling that found unelected bureaucrats were wrong to accept thousands of undated or incorrectly dated ballots during the 2020 election.

A three-judge panel for the 3rd Circuit ruled in a 2-1 decision in March that any mail-in ballots that arrive in envelopes missing a date or with an incorrect date are invalid, upholding a state law and overturning a lower court’s decision.

Several left-wing organizations appealed the ruling by petitioning the court to review the decision en banc, a petition which was denied on Tuesday. It’s a big blow for Democrat operative and Russia hoaxer Marc Elias, whose group supported the lawsuit against the state law and which called it a “crucial” and “critical” case ahead of 2024.

Pennsylvania adopted universal mail-in balloting in 2019, with the law requiring voters to “fill out, date and sign the declaration printed on [the] envelope” before returning their ballot. But thousands of ballots mailed in during the 2020 presidential election and 2022 midterms “did not comply with the date requirement” as they were either missing dates entirely or had incorrect dates, the 3rd Circuit panel ruled in March.

Years earlier, a panel of judges for the court had ruled the date requirement was in violation of the Materiality Provision of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which stipulates a voter cannot be denied their right to vote due to a paperwork issue that is “not material in determining whether such individual is qualified.” That decision was later vacated after the Supreme Court issued its 2022 decision in Ritter v. Migliori.

The issue then ended up in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court where the judges ruled the ballots were invalid under state law and found they should not be counted. The court, however, was split as to whether tossing the ballots entirely would violate the Materiality Provision, so the judges directed county election boards to “segregate and preserve” those ballots — though they were still not to be counted.

Left-wing groups filed a suit last year which resulted in Erie-based U.S. District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter ruling that ballots with missing or incorrect dates should be counted so long as they are received by Election Day. Republican organizations, including the Republican National Committee, appealed the decision. The panel for the 3rd Circuit overturned Baxter’s ruling, admitting that while their immediate reaction would be to find that a “failure to date a return envelope should not cause his ballot to be disqualified,” their role was simply to determine when the Materiality Provision can be applied.

Biden-Harris Administration Approves $6.1 Billion Group Student Loan Discharge...brings the total amount of student relief approved by the Biden-Harris Administration to almost $160 billion for nearly 4.6 million borrowers.
[USDeptOfEd] The Biden-Harris Administration today announced the approval of more than $6.1 billion in automatic student loan relief to nearly 317,000 borrowers who enrolled at any Art Institute campus on or after Jan. 1, 2004, through Oct. 16, 2017. The U.S. Department of Education (Department) found that The Art Institutes and its parent company, Education Management Corporation (EDMC), made pervasive and substantial misrepresentations to prospective students about postgraduation employment rates, salaries, and career services during that time. In October 2017, EDMC sold its remaining Art Institute campuses, and all existing Art Institute campuses closed under separate ownership in September 2023. Today's action brings the total amount of student relief approved by the Biden-Harris Administration to almost $160 billion for nearly 4.6 million borrowers.

"For more than a decade, hundreds of thousands of hopeful students borrowed billions to attend The Art Institutes and got little but lies in return. That ends today—thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration's work with the attorneys general offices of Iowa, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania," said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. "We must continue to protect borrowers from predatory institutions—and work toward a higher education system that is affordable to students and taxpayers."

The Department independently reviewed evidence provided by the attorneys general offices of Iowa, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, which conducted multi-year investigations into, and brought lawsuits against, The Art Institutes and EDMC. The attorneys general of Pennsylvania and Iowa provided materials obtained from investigations into these entities, including internal employment data, admissions training manuals, and the school's employment advertisements. The Massachusetts attorney general provided information obtained during an investigation into the New England Institute of Art—the Massachusetts Art Institute campus—including internal employment verification forms, other internal records of graduate employment outcomes, advertisements, and statements from former students and employees.

Today's announcement is another example of the strong partnerships between the Department and state attorneys general and their shared commitment to protecting federal student loan borrowers from predatory schools.

"The Art Institutes preyed on the hopes of students attempting to better their lives through education," said Federal Student Aid Chief Operating Officer Richard Cordray. "We cannot replace the time stolen from these students, but we can lift the burden of their debt. We remain committed to working with our federal and state partners to protect borrowers."

#3  For more than a decade, hundreds of thousands of hopeful students borrowed billions to attend The Art Institutes and got little but lies in return.

Art degrees have never really been a great path to employment, and the term 'starving artist' comes to mind. Van Gogh died penniless as did many other very accomplished artists who became famous only after their deaths.

Although that's 'history' and probably not taught anymore.

#4  I also notice that they aren't bothering to offer 'loan relief' for the trade school students.

Of course those folks are actually learning a viable means of supporting themselves and could pay off any student loans themselves without 'help'.

#6  Well, I guess an Ivy League education will continue to be a waste of time but no longer will it be a waste of money … for the student just for the rest of us.

#7  Why? So they can take their Cambridge education and go protest and burn the school? I have little, actually zero sympathy for todays college students. Look around, they seem to be the future Nazis of our world. Wanting a socialist world where its all given to them, and their fascism and hate are carrying their day on campuses right now. We need to find the money trail to the leaders of this campaign, and end this...

The blunt response to Biden's bid to reclassify marijuana: Joe accused of yet another 2024 election ploy to get votes with move that will make America 'more lethargic and dumber'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] President Joe Biden has been accused of yet another election year ploy to appeal to younger voters with his historic move to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug.
And also those Baby Boomers nostalgic for the follies of their youth.
It would not legalize the drug nationally, but instead change legal restrictions surrounding its use and study.

Critics say his campaign is 'grasping at straws' to find new ways to reverse his declining youth support and believe it could increase drug use across the country.

Biden has already forgiven more than $160 billion in student loans, after wiping $6 billion more for 317,000 students who went to art school.

Republican strategist Curt Anderson told DailyMail.com: 'Legalizing drugs makes America more lethargic and dumber, which obviously helps the Biden campaign.'

Democrats meanwhile have said the move is a long time coming and follows on from Biden pardoning all minor federal marijuana convictions.

Although I've never partaken of the Devil's Oregano, I know some who do. Something that isn't being addressed is how much more powerful modern 21st century weed is as opposed to the (comparatively) mild strains of the past. There has been a LOT of unofficial work done to make modern weed far more powerful than it used to be, and until that's recognized, we're going to have issues.

#5  Scythians cultivated chronic buds - they have found smoking buds in their tombs, it was not hemp. One Scythian Prince is thought to maybe be the first pot dealer.

Holland has been cultivating MJ for how long?

Before Holland, marijuana was a pharmaceutical and cultivated in the Unites States - I would suggest cultivated to enhance its medicinal effects which would imply potency.

More people die in a year from Tylenol compared to zero deaths from pot. People say it makes you lazy. Lazy people are lazy no matter what the smoke.

Here I am, I'll smoke and run a 5K. Meanwhile people who boohoo it are out of shape, fat, take a have dozen pills daily while they sit on the couch watching tv. Hopefully this does not describe you guys and gals.

#6  Mike,

I saw a documentary about 10 years ago about the potency kicking off an explosion of schizophrenia cases in Australia.
