#3 The Ukrainians will have the same problems making progress on the left bank of the Dniepro that the Russians had on the right: without a reliable way to move men and materiel across the river, you cannot maintain a position and an offense is not possible. Remember the big Russian withdrawal from Kherson? That was back when there were kinda-sorta bridges across the river. Now the only transport is boats and barges.
If I was playing the Russian side, I'd just sit back and let the Ukrainians come, wait until they accumulate forces and then bomb them to hell and gone. It means taking a big hit on the media battlefield, but it reduces the Ukr military which is one of the goals of the Special Military Op. |
