On Wednesday the DOJ said it had exposed a plot to kill John Bolton

Shahram Poursafi, a member of Iran's military, was named as the mastermind

Poursafi is also accused of putting a $1M bounty on Mike Pompeo's head

Meanwhile, Khalid Mehdiyev was indicted on Thursday in a separate incident

He is accused of threatening an Iranian dissident in Brooklyn with an AK-47

On Friday, author Salman Rushdie was stabbed in upstate New York

He has been under death threat from Tehran for the past three decades
