[REGNUM] Representatives of the US Republican and Democratic parties have submitted to the US Congress a bill providing for the introduction of new sanctions against Russia due to the situation with Alexei Navalny , the press service of Florida Senator Marco Rubio said .The document was named "Draft Law of 2021 on holding the Russian Federation accountable for malicious activity." It provides for sanctions against Russian officials who allegedly violated international law. Senators called the imprisonment of Alexei Navalny as a pretext for imposing sanctions. Russia is also accused of using "chemical and biological weapons."
