Supreme Court begins review of Trump’s Executive Order on Birthright citizenship
They’re paying attention to this issue even in faraway, mostly illiterate Afghanistan.
[KhaamaPress] The U.S.Supreme Court is reviewing Trump’s order to limit birthright citizenship, potentially affecting thousands of children born to immigrants colonists.

The U.S. Supreme Court has begun reviewing President Donald Trump
...The Hero of Butler, Pennsylvania...
’s executive order aimed at limiting birthright citizenship. The decision could affect thousands of newborns annually, as Trump seeks to change the traditional interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. The case raises critical constitutional questions, with potential long-term impacts on immigration and citizenship policy.

Conservative justices, holding a 6-3 majority over the liberal justices, indicated that they may limit lower courts’ ability to issue nationwide injunctions, such as the ones issued in Maryland, Washington, and Massachusetts to block Trump’s executive order. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
none of the justices explicitly supported the order, with some liberal judges arguing that it violates constitutional principles and legal precedents set by the Supreme Court.

The justices listened to over two hours of arguments about whether the executive order, which limits birthright citizenship for children born in the U.S. to non-citizen or non-permanent resident parents, should be allowed to stand. This policy is a key part of Trump’s stringent immigration agenda, and three judges previously ruled that the executive order likely violates the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause.

Trump signed the order on January 20, his first day back in office, mandating federal agencies to deny U.S. citizenship to children born in the country to parents who are neither U.S. citizens nor legal permanent residents. This move has sparked a legal battle, with several states and advocacy groups filing lawsuits against it, arguing that it would result in over 150,000 babies being denied citizenship each year.

Liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor expressed concern that the executive order could lead to statelessness for many children, depriving them of legal rights and government benefits. She urged the court to closely examine the legality of the order, pointing to the legal traditions surrounding birthright citizenship that have been upheld for over a century.

The Supreme Court’s review of this executive order will have significant consequences for U.S. immigration policy. If upheld, it could fundamentally alter the interpretation of the 14th Amendment, impacting the citizenship status of children born in the U.S. to non-citizen parents.

#1
A foundational element in any legal code is:

No Criminal shall profit, or gain, from their illegal actions.

Therefore, a person illegally in the USA (a criminal) should not profit from their illegally produced child.

#2 OBTW:

Been seeing a wide range of discussions pushing the various solutions and ideas on the net.

* What if Trump granted Temporary work VISA's for the illegals?

* Where the illegals had to register in the next 90 days, to be issued Federal Work Visa Cards good for 1 year, be charged a fee to cover a criminal/subversive background check fee.

* How about issuing Federal Work Visas renewable for 5 years. Applicant must have no serious criminal record of activity, or no use of State or Federal welfare support funds. Then be allowed to apply for citizenship on Year 5, provided they can show they have paid taxes, funded their own stay, maintained a serious crime free record, can pass a basic US Citizenship test and have learned English to at least a Elementary school level?

Basically register them and follow them.
Kick out the criminals, and put the honest ones to work doing jobs this Smart Phone Generation has never learned or can learn to do.

#3 The next mask to drop. SCOTUS will stage a judicial coup of the republic and grant itself powers not vested by the Constitution or statute. A branch of government that sits for life and is unaccountable to the people makes a mockery of the words 'republic' or 'democracy'.

#5 Honestly the best way I can think this could go is illegals are out. No birth citizenship for you, ya damn law breakers. Visa for visits? No, you are not here to make a life here.

Now green card holders and work visa that are granted for a long time, yes. You child will get a citizenship and if the parent wants one the process can be fast tracked.

Only exception is one of the parents also is a citizen, then the parents can choose if they want to bestow it to the child as well.

#6 The latest SCOTUS decision doesn't bode well for a favorable outcome in this.
