Strip ''is not a permanent solution'', adding that peace can only be achieved by creating an independent Paleostinian state, reported Al Jazeera on Thursday.
Describing Israel's 15-month assault on Gaza as a ''war of genocide'', Gheit told the UN Security Council: ''The basis for peace can only be achieved by the realisation of the Paleostinian people of their right to an independent state on the borders of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.''
He said Israel's oppression of Paleostinians is ''a threat to international peace and security'' and its war ''did not stop at the borders of Gaza or Paleostine but has spilled over and its flames have reached the region''.
