was sentenced to life in prison for the 2022 murders of three Muslim men.
In September Syed pleaded no contest to killing Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, 27, and Naeem Hussain, 25. Earlier in the year he was convicted of killing Aftab Hussain, 41. The high-profile crimes left the Muslim Community in New Mexico shaken. Each of the shooting deaths occurred within days of each other. Syed was sentenced to life in prison; he will be eligible for parole after 30 years, at that time he will be 83-years-old.
