Bitar is the highest-ranking official at the White Houseresponsible for coordinating the U.S. government's intelligence and defense policy.
In his youth, Bitar was a radical Palestinian supporter, an Anti-Israel activist, and a Board Member of the radical activist group Students for Justice in Palestine in its early days.
According to Rep. Mike Lawler, who has deep concerns about Bitarβs position, Bitar was also an intern for UNRWA.
Lawler also claims that Bitar has shown "a clear bias against and disregard for Israel."
Evidence has shown UNRWA is intertwined with Hamas, which is a U.S. designated terrorist organization.
SJP is the subject of multiple investigations and lawsuits for alleged ties to Hamas.
