 [MAIL] Former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov who 'lied' about an alleged Biden family 'bribery scheme' with Ukrainians had 'high-level contacts with Russian intelligence operatives,' according to prosecutors.

Last week, Special Counsel David Weiss charged him with lying about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden taking $5million bribes from the Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

Alexander Smirnov, 43, is accused of making a false statement and creating a false record for statements he made to the FBI in 2020 and, if convicted, faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.
In a shocking new filing Tuesday, prosecutors state that Smirnov, an Israeli citizen, has 'extensive foreign ties, including, most troublingly and by his own account, contact with foreign intelligence services, including Russian intelligence agencies.'
Russia, Russia, Russia.
'Smirnov’s contacts with Russian officials who are affiliated with Russian intelligence services are not benign,' allege prosecutors.
The filing went on to say the 'false information' Smirnov passed on from the Russian intelligence operatives was not 'trivial' because it 'targeted the presumptive nominee of one of the two major political parties,' referring to Joe Biden.
