Nobody cares what she has to say anymore. | [THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] On Wednesday, Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do...
appeared on ABC's The View and, once again, compared Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
to Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like...
In a rant about the threats posed by those with authoritarian tendencies, the former secretary of state and failed Democratic presidential candidate mentioned Der Fuhrer and the Don in the same breath, appearing to treat them as equivalent.
"People would get legitimately elected, and then they would try to do away with elections, do away with opposition, and do away with the free press,"On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton appeared on ABC's The View and, once again, compared Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.
In a rant about the threats posed by those with authoritarian tendencies, the former secretary of state and failed Democratic presidential candidate mentioned Der Fuhrer and the Don in the same breath, appearing to treat them as equivalent.
"People would get legitimately elected, and then they would try to do away with elections, do away with opposition, and do away with the free press," Clinton began. "Hitler was duly elected, right? So all of a sudden, somebody with those ... dictatorial, authoritarian tendancies would be like 'ok we're gonna shut this down, we're gonna throw these people in jail, and they didn't usually telegraph that."
"Trump is telling us what he intends to do," she continued. "Take him at his word. The man means to throw people in jail who disagree with him, shut down legitimate press outlets, do what he can to literally undermine the rule of law and this country's values."
Earlier in the interview, Clinton said that if Trump were to win in 2024, it would spell "the end of our country as we know it."
"I don't say that lightly," she added. "I hated losing, and I especially hated losing to him because I had seen so many warning signals during the campaign."
Clinton claimed that she tried to give Trump a chance after he was elected in 2016, but that "from his innauguration on it was nothing but accusing of things, making up facts ... everything that I worried about."
"I think he'd be even worse now," she suggested, "because he was somewhat restrained in the first term ... so now he is going to ... find people who have no principles, no conscience."
