Fresh $40 Million Cash Reaches Kabul: Afghanistan Central Bank

[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan Central Bank on Tuesday announced that a fresh $40 million cash package has reached Kabul, and deposited in a private bank.
Afghanistan central bank also known as ’Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) in a statement said on Tuesday that the Afghan Interim Regime appreciates the moves which lead to the inflow of cash to the country.
The central bank has stated that the government appreciates the international community’s support in shipping cash into the country aimed at helping vulnerable families during these difficult times, as the country is wrestling with economic and humanitarian crises.
This comes as Pak Rupee and Iranian Rial have rapidly depreciated over the past weeks, whereas, Afghani has remained quite stable, mainly due to the inflow of the international community’s cash aid packages to Afghanistan.

Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) had earlier clarified that cash packages shipped to Afghanistan are deposited in UN accounts in a private bank, and will be used by UN agencies solely for the purpose of humanitarian aid and other supportive programs. The money will not be handed over to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the announcement said.
