Biden admin launching pilot program that would allow Americans to sponsor refugees for $2,275 each

 is set to launch a new pilot program on Thursday that will ostensibly allow groups of Americans to directly sponsor refugees from across the globe through the State Department program called the Welcome Corps.

The program permits groups of private American citizens to sponsor individuals through the Refugee Resettlement Program if they can cough up enough money to do so, pass background checks, and devise a plan on how to support them, according to Fox News Digital. It is similar to a model used in Canada.

The program was first reported by Rooters. Groups of at least five people will be required to raise a minimum of $2,275 per refugee. Then refugees can begin the process of going through background checks.

The program’s goal is to find sponsors for 5,000 refugees before the end of the current fiscal year in September. An announcement is expected on Thursday from the Biden administration.

A religious nonprofit stopped letting Texas house foster kids in a facility it owns this fall, days after two teenage girls staying there snuck out and were allegedly sexually assaulted. The girls were 13 and 16 when two men picked them up on the side of the road and allegedly assaulted them at a hotel in Burnet, roughly 14 miles north of Marble Falls, according to court documents. Burnet County, home to Marble Falls, is about an hour northwest of Austin.

#6 This admin just gets more ridiculous by the minute. When I first read the headline, I thought the $2275 was what the Gov was willing to pay you to sponsor one of the criminals refugees.

Stupid of me ..you pay the dough - on top of the taxes you already pay to do this.

I'm sure they will get a few virtue signaling idiots with cash who'll do this. Maybe - like Section 8 housing, you can pay to house them elsewhere. The well heeled hypocrites on Martha's Vineyard will cough up just so they can say we welcome refugees with a straight face after depoprting them last year.
