[AmThinker] I attended Michelle Obama’s final book release event this week in Los Angeles at sold-out YouTube Theater. Her celebrity interviewer was Oprah Winfrey. This evening was ostensibly produced to promote Michelle’s new book, The Light We Carry. In fact, it was just another “under the radar” 2024 presidential campaign event for Michelle.

#3 Why would ANYONE think that living in the White House for 8 years is a qualification for becoming President? I mean, would you want to fly in an airplane piloted by the wife of a pilot? Or have surgery done by the wife of a surgeon?
Unless, of course, the wives are qualified pilots/surgeons in their own right. Big Mike is not qualified.

#6 A hallmark of Big Mike has always been her vanity, a thoroughly phony sense of style and entitlement that has always been on display. She increasingly has projected a "regal" sense of public engagement, but my sense has always been that she isn't a hard producer, just a hard consumer. So until now that talk of her being willing to endure the indignities of political engagement seemed far-fetched. Even as sheltered and supported as she would be as a candidate, there would be some effort and tolerance required to become the Empress Puppet. So I was unconvinced. But the display of the braids, the high-end ethno-signature, suddenly after all these years, that vanity compromise is the signature that the deal has been struck.
