In a chilling 30-second audio clip obtained by DailyMail.com, Mormon cult leader Samuel Rappylee Bateman is heard proselytizing about 'blood atonement'

He says there is 'payment' required for people's wrongs and boasts that there will be men 'who beg to have their blood spilled'

'The only way they can feel that feel is to shed their blood and die, and the Lord will give them eternal life,' Bateman, 46, says in the recording

The self-proclaimed prophet is currently locked up in Florence, Arizona, after being arrested for a second time in September on evidence tampering charges

Until then, Bateman had been living the high life in the Mormon community of Short Creek, which is spread across Colorado City, Arizona and Hildale, Utah
