[KavkazUzel] A court in Nazran considered comments about the former head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, left on the social network in connection with the sentence to the leaders of the Ingush protest, calls for extremist activity and sentenced Sunzha resident Ilez Khamkhoev to a year and a half of probation.
Yunus-Bek Yevkurov led Ingushetia from 2008 until the end of June 2019. Since October 2018, opponents of the agreement on the administrative border with Chechnya, concluded by Yevkurov with Ramzan Kadyrov, have been seeking the resignation of the head of Ingushetia. Since July 8, 2019, he has been the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia.
The Nazranovsky District Court of Ingushetia sentenced 31-year-old Sunzhi Ilez Khamkhoev to a year and a half of probation because of a negative comment about Russian Deputy Defense Minister and former head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, the OVD-Info human rights project reported on December 2.
Khamkhoev was found guilty of incitement to extremist activity (Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) due to comments in December 2021 on an Instagram post about sentences to Ingush protest leaders.
According to the prosecution, in these publications, the man accused associates of the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and the former head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, of persecuting activists and called for resistance to them, the publication states.
