New York City Mayor Eric Adams is finalizing a deal to use a Norwegian cruise ship as migrant processing and housing center: City says luxury liner is cheaper alternative to tent shelters

About 15,500 migrants have made their way into New York with Mayor Eric Adams concerned this number will swell to 75,000 and strain the shelter system

A source has revealed that Adams is finalizing plans to house and process migrants in a Norwegian Cruise ship

People living on board will be allowed to move freely, however some locals believe it may cause friction in the community

The cruise ship is to be docked at a former naval station on the northeastern shore of Staten Island
