[KhaamaPress] A special flight took the last group of the Hindu and Sikh communities’ remaining members in Afghanistan to Delhi on Sunday, marking a turning point in the history of the exodus of Afghan minorities.
According to India’s Tribune, a special flight carrying 55 members of the Afghan Hindu and Sikh communities — 38 adults, 17 children, and three infants — landed in New Delhi, the Indian capital, on Sunday, September 25.
The final batch of the Hindus and Sikhs that were stranded in Afghanistan was evacuated, and they were in close contact with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs about it, according to Rajya Sabha

The Islamic Emirate called on the Afghan Sikhs and Hindu community to not leave Afghanistan, saying that it remains committed to their rights.
“The life of Sikhs and Hindus is protected under the Islamic Emirate rule. But if someone leaves the country and returns through legal ways, it is a normal process,” said Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.
Lakbir Singh is one of the members of the Afghan Sikhs and Hindu community and has been living in Afghanistan for more than four decades. Singh has a herbal medicine shop in Kabul.
“(People) tell us that you are not from Afghanistan. This is an Islamic country. We are happy here. It is ok that it is an Islamic (country). We had four generations here,” he said.
“The exiting of the country by our Sikhs and Hindu citizens will not only affect the image of Afghanistan in socially but will also affect Afghanistan’s economy,” said Darya Khan, an economist.
Earlier, a group of 60 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus left Afghanistan for India.
