First Protest Spotted At The Tour de France
This happened about ten minutes ago; a couple of knuckleheads laying down in the road and set off some red smoke bombs. Race was temporarily stopped by race officials.

#3 Darth - yes, quite a few cliffs in the Alps & Pyrenees mountains when they're coming down off of one; Fabio Casartelli went off one back in 1995 doing 50 MPH and was killed instantly.

#6 Years & years ago there was this Catalan separatist group (forget the name right now) that used to pull these stunts whenever they went through the Pyrenees mountain stages. Haven't seen those guys in ages now.

#14 When the NBC crew was covering this live, I spotted a picture from the 1980's of Bernard Hinault ('The Badger', five time TdF winner) punching a protestor hard in the face with an overhand right when they pulled that shit back then. To me, that's the right response.
