Millions face another day of dangerous, record-setting heat from Midwest to Southeast
[NYPOST] Wednesday will be another day of dangerous, record-setting heat for millions of Americans from the Midwest to the Southeast.

This will be especially dangerous for hundreds of thousands of people in the Ohio Valley who still don’t have power after a derecho punched through the region on Monday.

NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center says far-reaching Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories remain in place from Michigan to northern Florida as the extensive heat wave continues for another day.

In addition, the humidity will drive the heat index well above 100 degrees once again.

The NWS says the excessive heat will ease some as we get into Thursday across the upper Midwest, but much of the region will continue to see above-average, record-setting temperatures continuing through the end of the week.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the high temperatures on Wednesday.

Temperatures will generally be in the 90s across the region, with several areas getting to or above 100 degrees.

St. Louis and Nashville, Tennessee, for example, will see a high temperature Wednesday afternoon of 99 degrees.

#1 Heat index today barely made 100 so I was able to get 3 1/2 hours of grass and brush cutting done. I seem to get about 45 minutes per quart of water...

I envy your mountainous location in Northern GA

We had a typical Mid-eastern Ga 102 day with a heat index of 110 yesterday.

It's that time of years again, when some of us put a frozen bottle of water in our Mail boxes and raise the flag, for the Mail person.

#5 Used to have 3-4 100+ days every summer in SWPA. Since I moved to the Space Coast almost 5 years ago, not one. We do get a sea breeze here...

#9 The Zephyr is blowing down the Carson Valley at 25-25, gusts to 50, and mid-80's with glorious blue sky across the Sierra', Mt Job, at just under 11,000 ft, still has snow up top, Wind and choppy waves on Lake Tahoe. Humidity today, is a nice 27 percent.

#10 back in August of 1979 in Columbus, Georgia there was a week where the lowest high temperature was 104 with the highest at 107. I remember weeks in Enid, Oklahoma when the temperature would reach 117.

#11 I believe I recall Camp Doha, Kuwait got up to 129 in 1999, but it was a dry heat. So hot the locals cancelled the camel races.
