New York let its eviction and foreclosure moratorium expire on Saturday

Those in the city will have to now apply for eviction protection and rent relief

Tenants' rights advocates rallied on the steps of the New York Public Library demanding another extension to the eviction moratorium until the end of June

Some protestors were arrested at Saturday's event, but the vast majority remained peaceful

Housing courts will consider cases filed by tenants and the Legal Aid Society starting on Tuesday
