g(r)om,

Probably not - all it means is that the resignees are engaged in CYA for public consumption. They'll be hired again, and be able to say, "Well, I quit when it became clear," even though they knew perfectly well what was going on.

Cuomo, sadly, isn't going anywhere. He's going to ride this out, and he'll walk out of Albany on schedule.

IMO, you underestimate the need for scapegoats.

g(r)om,

That's entirely possible - on the other hand, there's a report this morning over at www.hotair.com (usually pretty reliable) that Cuomo offered a deal - he'd promise not to run for re-election (a double-pinky swear; I'm sure) if the Legislature would agree not to impeach him.

He's thinking he can hold on to this somehow. My call - and this is IMHO, YMMV, of course - is that if he's still there by the end of the week, he ain't going.

#5 ^The entire idea, IMO, is to stop him from running again.

#6 /\ Exactly! People as wealthy and powerful as Cuomo seldom end up staying at the graybar hotel.

#7 he'd promise not to run for re-election

What NY politician would believe any promise of any other NY politician?

#8 It's a tactical CYA move.
Under Ny state (and federal) guidelines former employees can't be called to testify before committees. It's why James Comey and Lois Lerner just said 'nope' and walked away.

#9 I understand that she was also Cuomo's 'enforcer' that kept the abused women in line and from complaining too loudly.

Kind of a low-rent Ghislaine Maxwell.
