#8 ^7 -- Has anyone researching the effect of watching TV on stability of IQ scores? I swear I can feel my IQ dropping for every minute I spend watching TV.

#9 #7 CNS [central nervous system] implications of COVID-19: a comprehensive
review

Nagu, P., Parashar, A., Behl, T., & Mehta, V. (2021). CNS implications of COVID-19: a comprehensive review. Reviews in the Neurosciences, 32(2), 219-234.

The money quote
COVID-19 induces CNS inflammation and neurological degenerative damage through a diverse mechanism which includes ACE-2 receptor damage, cytokine-associated injury or cytokine storm syndrome, secondary hypoxia, demyelination, blood–brain barrier disruption, neurodegeneration, and neuroinflammation.
Viral invasion into the CNS has been reported to show association with complications like Parkinsonism, Alzheimer’s disorder, meningitis, encephalopathy, anosmia, hyposmia, anxiety, depression, psychiatric symptoms, seizures, stroke, etc

How does this compare to a bad case of influenza?

#15 How does this compare to a bad case of influenza?

We know it can cause neurological damage in mice
Jang, H., Boltz, D., McClaren, J., Pani, A. K., Smeyne, M., Korff, A., ... & Smeyne, R. J. (2012). Inflammatory effects of highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza virus infection in the CNS of mice. Journal of Neuroscience, 32(5), 1545-1559.

And there are some mention of neurological damage in humans
Studahl, M. (2003). Influenza virus and CNS manifestations. Journal of Clinical Virology, 28(3), 225-232.
Only abstract is avaiable.

#16  We know it can cause neurological damage in mice ...in humans

Something to read later, with my thanks. It seems to me a lot of answers to questions never seriously asked before are being addressed for Covid-19, which is wonderful — and I hope to benefit from the new learnings for my own situation. But then the new information is being screamed to the winds without explanation of how this compares to diseases that we previously endured with equanimity, and in future will be expected to again.
