FBI agents to pair up with Portland police in downtown and entertainment district after deadly shooting

Last year Trump offered to send federal officers to restore order to Portland's streets, and the city officials had a hissy fit, like this one by the mayor. Now the feds are most welcome, 'cause it's different when they do it.
[OregonLive] FBI agents will pair up with officers in the Portland police Enhanced Community Safety Team to provide more coverage in downtown Friday and Saturday nights in the wake of a mass shooting that killed an 18-year-old and wounded six others last Saturday.

The weekend also marks the kickoff of a formal grand reopening of the city center after a year of upheaval.

Police plan to pull officers from their North and East precincts to bolster Central Precinct patrols in the downtown core, provide more overtime for the increased coverage and have FBI agents ride-along with certain officers.
Of course, if I were a Portland cop riding along with a Famous But Incompetent agent, I'd be thinking entrapment the whole way. "Yes, I'm all in favor of Critical Race Theory. Have it with my coffee every morning, I do. Did the mike pick that up? And Ashli Babbitt committed suicide."
